About Church Update
Church Update was launched in March 2006, growing out of a vision to provide churches in Britain with an easy to use website to publicise their regular meetings and special activities. The system displays a full week's events for a church on a perpetual on-line calendar.
Website features:- Seamlessly combines weekly programmes with one-off events to display a full week's calendar for a church.
- Can display a focus for a regular meeting such as a meeting title or speaker's name for a specific week's meeting.
- Can display a note to show an event has been cancelled.
- Displays non-date specific Special announcements.
- Displays general information about your church - address, main service times, leadership, parking, accessible facilities etc.
- Shows your church location on an on-line map.
- Automatically links to your own church website (where applicable).
- Can also display all activities of all churches in a particular town.
The password controlled input system can be easily used by anyone who can use a basic word processing program and web browser. Your church can have a number of registered users to keep the calendar up-to-date and share the work of keeping the calendar current. When registered, your church can keep its on-line calendar up-to-date and keep the congregation informed of all church activities and let the wider world know what is happening.
An initial 2 month, no commitment trail period is offered to all churches. If it does not work for your church, just cancel your registration within the first 60 days and you have no obligation. If this system is useful for your church, just £50 will give the church a full year's access (subsidies are available on request for smaller churches).
Church Update was conceived and programmed by Malcolm Allaway, Principle Developer with maweb.co.uk, a website development business. Malcolm's programming experience dates back to the 1980s and includes database development and website programming for a range of organisations - including several multi-lingual websites.
